Black Knight: ‘Tis but a scratch.
King Arthur: A scratch!? Your arm’s off!
Black Knight: No, it isn’t.
King Arthur: Well, what’s that then?!
Black Knight: I’ve had worse.
It’s been several years since I (posted here in any meaningful way.
(“But wait!” you say. What about all these, you know, posts? Well, all credit to amazing perma-guest blogger Patty Wilber of The Write Horse, that’s what!)
Like the Black Knight, I discovered that you can only say “Tis a scratch!” only so long before you’re not actually functional any longer. At that point, a fetal curl becomes an excellent choice, at least for a while. It turns out that fast-paced family losses and health spirals just aren’t something one bounces back from.
Well, no one’s bouncing yet. Occasionally peeking out to see what’s happening, though…yep.
So hey. You know. What’s happening in reading world?
And also, as an easy way to say “Re-hi, everyone!”, I’ve got some stories to post. For the next little bit, anyway, I’ll be posting chapters some of my favorite stories, starting with epic fantasy story Samhain Heartsong. Might post some tidbits from the current manuscript (a Wolverine’s Daughter sequel). Might post pieces from published books. On the whole, I’m just looking to have fun with my fiction, and hoping others are having fun with it, too–so what I do will depend a lot on what you all want me to do!
Welcome back, me? I hope…
Hugs! They say that what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger but I’ve only found it leaves me exhausted.
Looking forward to your words again!
Welcome back! I neglected my blogs when health and other things collided on top of me…it’s completely understandable and you have way more animal-work (which as we all know does not stop for any reason but the Big D itself) than I do. Hugs and cheers (and no pressure!)
I’ve been enjoying all of Patty’s posts, but am glad you are feeling enough better to start posting again yourself!
Yay! I am really looking forward to the stories you are planning to post. Call me lazy, but they will just SHOW UP in my email and all I will need to do is open and read.
And I am very grateful to have my blog spot on your site. Maybe someday I will have to grow up and have my own site, but….that sounds like extra work!
I’m glad to see your post! I am looking forward to seeing new stories from you, and I won’t mind a bit being reminded of the old ones. 🙂
Samhein Heartsong is one of my absolute favorites. Glad to hear you’ll share it again.
And I signed up to your newsletter!
And you did a yoeman’s work to get the guest posting figured out, too!
