It’s Tease Season

Yes, that’s right.  The days are longer, the days flirt with surprising spring temps, the ground grows achingly dry, and it’s all just a great big TEASE.

Dart is completely convinced.

Duncan is completely convinced.

A preliminary offering of spring horse hair

Never mind those singing birdies, the snow could come boiling over the Sandias at any time.  Never mind that balmy sun…the night temps are pretty frigid.

So keep the horse blankets ready, the trough water heater plugged in, and the winter coats to hand. Tease season, you are not fooling ME!

Dart Beagle: Oh yes you are.

Huh.  Guess I’ll just see if I can get under that hay pallet to rescue Duncan’s shedding blade from the resident pack rat.

In other matters, it’s not tease season at all–it’s harvest season!  Because it’s Read an eBook Week, and there is a way cool sale going on at Smashwords.  The coupon codes are right there on the individual book pages.  And my books are included, along with some of the short stories!

Dart you are sooo right. I hope 2″ of rain would deal with the snow. Guess what IT’S BACK. We are living in Groundhog Day!

  2. Crysta says:

We’re getting the tease season too. Not fair, last week was beautiful!

Dart gets cuter ever time I see a new picture. 😀

  3. Doranna says:

Peggy–I saw that! Wow! I expect the same here, sooner or later… (it’s totally overcast today. I’m giving it the squint eye.)

Crysta–it was beautiful here last week, too! I’m glad I got some biking and agility in…

That Dart Dog! He’s too cute for his own good…

  4. Doranna says:

Oh, MAN. It just started to snow. Forecast:

“Partly cloudy. Windy. Isolated rain showers in the evening…then isolated snow showers after midnight. Lows in the upper 20s to lower 30s. West winds 25 to 35 mph decreasing to 15 to 25 mph after midnight. Gusts up to 50 mph. ”

Forecast appears to be behind the times.

  5. Sherrill says:

    Love Dart – he’s adorable!
I’m living in the great white north – Canada – we had a lovely weekend, far colder than you can imagine, we still have about 4 feet of snow – but I saw puddles on the roads today – maybe it’s on the way – but I posted my own thoughts this am… Don’t be fooled, the groundhog was right <3
Happiness is the little teases that spring breezes blow our way…

    • Doranna says:

Sherrill–thanks for stopping by! We recently had -25F, so I can imagine pretty cold. On the whole, however, we’re probably quite balmy compared to your temps. Happy tease of spring!

  6. LOL–Dart oozing off the cushion reminds me of my Fred, who is far too big for the little kitty bed he likes to sleep on. He oozes out, too.

  7. Doranna says:

“Oozing” is just about right. Kacey used to do that, too…we called her “Noodle Dog.”
